Sony EV-S800 Video 8 VCR

This was the latest and greatest Sony Video 8 VCR with digital recording capability (PCM). Input is analogue only, but copy a CD and it is indistinguishable (for 99% of listeners) to the original CD. Quite why Sony dropped this concept is beyond me, but a little bird did say they wanted no competition with the later DAT recorders. Whther true on not, the EV-S800 remains testament to their great idea. Sadly, this unit has begun to warble badly on playback. It may just need the heads cleaning, but I no longer have any use for Video 8 tapes and so simply with to get rid of any residual equipment. Obviously under the circumstances there is no implied warranty, but I expect it will be simply to fix for 'those who know' and give years more service. It is in very good physical condition (virtually as new) and is supplied in the original box/packaging with manual and infr-red remote control (no batteries). No reserve.
